EB22 Electrobooster Technical Notes and Specifications

EB22 Kit comes with a DC Wall Power Adapter 12 volt 1250mA 15 watt. Plug the Adapter into the wall and plug the cord into the EB22 10-18vdc jack.

• The EB22 is designed for a 12 volt, direct current, power device.
• Power plug specification is a 2.1mm x 5.5mm male plug. For compatibility, it is equivalent to a style "M" RadioShack power plug. Voltage polarity can be either tip positive or tip negative.
• The Power Device must deliver voltage in the range of 10 to 18 volts direct current.
• The Power Device must deliver at least 1250 mA current.
• An optional 12-volt cigarette adapter may be used for remote usage.
• An optional power cable can be made with alligator clips on one end. Connect the clips to a 12 volt lantern battery.

The EB22 kit comes with an audio cable. Plug one end of the cable into the EB22 Sound jack. Plug the other end into a sound source such as a computer.

• The cable specification is a Stereo 3.5mm Male Plug to a Stereo 3.5mm Male Plug.
• A sound source is any device which produces an audio output in the range of 0 to 5 volts.
• A sound source can be a desktop computer, laptop, netbook, PDA, Cell phone, or any other player that produces sound for headphones.
• Most computers use a headphone jack, normally colored green.
• The green Umph LED on the EB22 acts as an intensity indicator of the sound level. The louder the sound, the brighter the LED. If there is no sound from sound source, the green Umph LED will be off.
• The brightness of the green Umph LED on the EB22 depends on both the volume of the sound source (such as a computer) and the setting of the EB22 Intensity Knob control.
• Proper use of the EB22 unit requires that there be a load on the EB22 Pads Output jack. Do not turn on the Intensity Knob without a load. If there is no load and the unit is turned on, the green Umph LED may turn on and is accompanied with an internal sparking discharge. A hissing sound may be heard. This can cause harm to the EB22.

The EB22 kit comes with a special Pad Stereo Lead. Plug the 1/4 inch stereo plug into the EB22 Pads jack. Make sure it is fully seated into the jack.

• The cable specification is a 1/4 inch stereo plug to two .08 inch Pin Ends.

The EB22 Kit comes with Electrotherapy Electrode Pads. Connect a pad to each .08 inch pin end of the Pad Cable.

• Before attaching pads to load, make sure that EB22 Intensity Knob is off or turned to low.
• Make sure the two pads do not touch each other.
• Adjust the intensity of the pads slowly using the EB22 Intensity Knob or the audio source volume control.
• Pads are reusable. Pads can become dry. This may cause a resistance between the Pads and the load. Rehydrate the Pads by rubbing several drops of water onto the sticky side of Pads to restore the adhesive gel.
• Depending on the quality of the Pad, the wires inside can break. When this happens, high voltage can arc across the broken gap and cause shocks similar to static electricity discharges. This is not dangerous but can be quite irritating. Replace the Pads with new Pads.
• If the wires inside the Pads are broken with a large gap, the Pads will fail and no signal will be delivered. Replace the Pads with new Pads.
• The smaller the pad, the more intense the delivery. Pads may be cut to fit.
• Different sized pads may be purchased online for specific needs. Generally if pads are designed for TENS machines, they are compatible with the EB22.

Turn EB22 Intensity Knob clockwise to turn it on and increase Pad intensity.

• Do not turn past 2 if there is no load.
• The EB22 unit generates high voltage through the Pads jack. If there is no plug in the jack, or the Pads are not connected to a load, you will hear a hiss inside the unit. The sound you hear are sparks jumping through the air inside the unit. The intensity of the sparks is similar to static electricity discharging.
• Turning the EB22 Intensity Knob to high can cause distortion. It is better to use a low or medium intensity.
• Adjust the intensity of the Pads slowly using the EB22 Intensity Knob to avoid extreme intensities.
• The intensity of the Pads is determined by both the EB22 Intensity Knob and the sound source volume control.

Turn EB22 Speaker Knob clockwise to turn on internal speaker and increase volume.

• Speaker Knob can be turned to MAX for loudest sound from internal speaker.
• Adjust Speaker Knob for comfortable setting.
• Speaker Knob does not adjust the intensity of the Pads or green Umph LED. It only adjusts the loudness of the internal speaker. It is used to verify the audio signal produced by the EB22 Intensity Knob and sound source volume control.

Turn on or increase volume from sound source (computer, etc.).

• A sound source is any device which produces an audio output in the range of 0 to 5 volts.
• A sound source can be a desktop computer, laptop, netbook, PDA, Cell phone, or any other player that produces sound for headphones.
• Most computers use a headphone jack, normally colored green.
• A low volume setting on the sound source will prevent creating an excessively high intensity on the EB22 Pads.
• A high volume setting on the sound source can cause distortion. It is better to use a low or medium volume.
• Adjust the intensity of the EB22 Pads slowly using the volume control on the sound source.
• Most computers multitask processes. This means that sound can come from many places such as email delivery and messaging programs. Make sure that all tasks that produce unwanted sounds are turned off.

The EB22 Kit comes with Deluxe Carrying Case.

• EB22 Deluxe Carrying Case Dimensions is 9.2" x 7.5" x 4.5".
• Open case by pulling tabs on each side of handle.
• Foam pad inside case is laid out for EB22 unit, Wall Adapter, Audio cable, and Pad Cable. The foam pad in the top contains instructions and Pads.
